Maintenance log 2023
Taking care of a Tanzer 29 in 2023.

Here’s what I did in 2023 to take care of my Tanzer 29:
Batteries
- Charged, re-connected
Propane tanks
- Connect
Water tank
- Flushed with water
Rudder
- Install drain plug with teflon tape
Launch
Standing rigging
- Shroud tension 700 lbs
- Backstay tension about 400 lbs
- Bobstay tension: taught
Boom
- Re-attach
Bimini & dodger
- Put up frames, attach canvas
Sails
- Bend
Water tank
- Flushed with water
Winterize engine, pre-haulout
Bimini & dodger
- Remove canvas, take down frames
Sails
- Take down, fold, store in cabin
Boom
- Remove, store in cabin
Haulout
Winterize engine, post-haulout
Winterize plumbing
- Water tank: 2 litres plumbing antifreeze, ran pressure pump with galley and head faucets open until they were spitting pink
- Toilet: Pumped 2 litre of plumbing antifreeze
Rudder
- Remove drain plug. Too much water came out this time. Drain plug is obviously not stainless, it’s all rusted! And it doesn’t thread into a matching insert, it’s just old (silicon?) sealant.
- 5 cm crack in gelcoat at bottom, leading edge
Propane tanks
- Disconnect
Batteries
- Disconnect, bring home
