Taking care of a Tanzer 29 in 2022.

Here’s what I did in 2022 to take care of my Tanzer 29:
Batteries
- Charged, re-connected
Water tank
- Flushed with water, treated with a dishwasher tablet.
Deck hardware
- Replaced starboard rope clutch with Spinlock XAS 612. Re-bedded port & starboard rope clutches with epoxy’d mounting holes & butyl tape.
Galley
- Removed miserable toaster oven from galley. Trim piece in port compartment under v-berth.
Rigging
- Dad cleaned mast main track and furling track then sprayed with McLube Sailkote.
Bilge pump
- Replaced hose for manual bilge pump with Smartpond Black Pond corrogated tube 1-inch ID.
- Re-attached bilge pump strainer to hose, installed in compartment just forward of companionway steps.
Launch
Standing rigging
- Shroud tension 700 lbs
- Backstay tension about 400 lbs
- Bobstay tension: taught
Electrical
- Replaced hardwired mast cable for wind instruments with Maretron NMEA 2000 micro field female & male connectors.
Winterize engine, pre-haulout
Haulout
Winterize engine, post-haulout
Winterize plumbing
- Water tank: 2 litres plumbing antifreeze, ran pressure pump with galley and head faucets open until they were spitting pink
- Toilet: Pumped 2 litre of plumbing antifreeze
Batteries
- Disconnect, bring home
