Taking care of my boat in 2021.
Here’s what I did in 2021 to take care of my Tanzer 29:
Batteries
- Charged, re-connected
Prop shaft
- Replaced 2x magnesium anodes, 1-inch
Manual bilge pump
- Replaced gaskets, added cover
Water tank
- Flushed with water, treated with Head-O-Matic #4986 Water Tank Treatment
Mast fittings
- Replaced cotter pins
- Cleaned mainsail track, sprayed McLube SailKote
Standing rigging
- Backstay bridle: replaced with 14 feet of Transat 3/16-inch 1x19 stainless, 2x toggle jaws 3/8-inch pin, 2x Alexander Roberts #AF-6 3/16-inch fork 5/16-inch hole
Engine
- Engine summerize checklist
- Replaced Yanmar 104211-42071 impeller
- Replaced Yanmar 104211-42090 impeller gasket
- Replaced 2x Yanmar 26554-040082 bolt impeller cover screws
- Replaced Yanmar 105582-49200 thermostat
- Replaced Yanmar 104211-49160 thermostat cover gasket
- Replaced 2x Yanmar 26106-060182 bolts for thermostat
- Replaced Yanmar 27210-200309 zinc anode at rear of engine
- Replaced Yanmar 23414-25000 copper washer for anode
- Replaced Yanmar 123210-09310 rubber gasket for zinc
Thruhulls
- Inspected and oiled
Launch
Standing rigging
- Shroud tension 700 lbs
- Backstay tension about 400 lbs
- Bobstay tension: taught
Holding tank
- Pumped out, flushed with water and Head-O-Matic #4001 Concentrated Odour Control, pumped out.
Winterize engine, pre-haulout
Haulout
Winterize engine, post-haulout
Winterize plumbing
- Water tank: 2 litres plumbing antifreeze, ran pressure pump with galley and head faucets open until they were spitting pink
- Toilet: Pumped 2 litre of plumbing antifreeze
